Statue

Hello, everyone. And I am happy you are here today, because we are going to talk about a fun topic: statuary. Have you ever seen a statue? You have probably seen one in a park, at a museum or at some famous place like a monument. Buildings are astonishing pieces of art involving a great deal of craftsmanship and work. They can stand about one foot and up to 18 feet at the shoulder, but they might look different based on where you are from. What are statues, how are they made and what do they mean? That is the sole oldest form of memorial-marking. Thanks, but statues are ancient and have been here for thousands of years ahead. In distant past, people have sculptured statues to revered gods and goddesses. Since these statues were supposed to be long-lasting, stone was frequently used for the sculpture. In order to create figurine, the sculptor would choose a big enough rock. They would then painstakingly transform the rock with special tools so it looks like what they wanted. The process was laborious and time-consuming, but when they completed it, the results were frequently stunning.

Exploring different materials used in statue-making

There are a wide range of materials statues can be made from. Other than just stone, or metal – the molds can also be made up of wood, clay and in case even glass. All these materials have unique properties which render them ideal for specific sorts of statues. Stone can give the photography a heavy and long-lasting look, perfect for statues outside which have to survive weather and age. Bronze is tough and does not rust, such that it is frequently used for fixtures placed outside. In contrast, wood is a softer medium that allows for detailed carving and fine lines because carvers can work it with greater ease. During the last week, everyone is having debates on keeping certain statues up and tearing many of them down for example, there are some people that want the statues honoring those who have done wrong in history (slavery/discrimination) taken down. The claimed these statues are only offensive, and insensitive in reflecting the values of middle-Aged White Males from 150+ years ago. Other people, on the other hand, feel that these are symbols of our history and should be left standing so we can never forget where we come from. X- What do you guys think about this debate?
